Greek-Turkish Young Leaders Symposium on Security
Thessaloniki, 12-16 December 2017


Who should apply: International Relations Specialists (MA students, PhD candidates, young PhD scholars, experts, and professionals), aged between 22 and 35 years, from Greece and Turkey.  The target age group is 22-35 years of age (those born between 1982 and 1995).  Proficiency in English is required.

Please note: The organizers will cover round trip airfare from Istanbul to Thessaloniki; accommodation in Thessaloniki for the duration of the Symposium (4 nights including breakfast for all non-Thessaloniki based participants); lunch for 3 days; and two dinners. Please note that although the Symposium is open to participants from all parts of Turkey and Greece and they are especially encouraged to apply, the organizers will only provide for air travel between Istanbul and Thessaloniki. The CIES may provide on a need basis a small travel stipend for those attending the Symposium from elsewhere in Greece.

Participants are expected to make their own arrangements for their visa and health insurance coverage for the entire duration of their trip/stay.

Application and registration process:

The deadline for applications is Tuesday, 31 October 2017. Participation is limited to 30 people (15 Greeks, 15 Turks). Acceptance is at the discretion of the organizers. All applicants will receive an acknowledgement of receipt of their application within 5 working days.
